Markus González, director general of Immigration, Ministry of Labour and Immigration the Government has advanced in the Regulations implementing the Aliens Act (Act which came into force on 12 December) reduced from three to two years required to ask green card social ties.
Currently the social roots for immigrants must demonstrate that they have at least three years living in the country, who have no criminal record and who have an employment contract signed by the employer and the employee, contract duration can not be less than one year at the time of application. They also have to prove family ties with other foreign residents or provide a report to support their social integration issued by the municipality in which he has his habitual residence. Regulation also indicate that it may renew the residence permit to immigrants unemployed if their partners work and play, instead, the economic conditions to remain in Spain.
Gonzalez has stated that the Regulation "flex" the renewal of permits to avoid the illegality of the crisis, after many migrants have lost their jobs in sectors such as construction.
The regulation should be ready by the end of this year.
